Golden Adriatic Waterpolo Camp - Makarska, Croatia

The Golden Adriatic water polo camp is set for summer 2025 in the stunning city of Makarska, Croatia. Nestled between the majestic Biokovo mountain and the crystal clear Adriatic sea, Makarska, a renowned destination, offers easy access to Split, Dubrovnik and picturesque Croatian islands with renowned beaches along the Makarska Riviera. Notably, it’s just an hour drive from Split airport.

In recent ceremony held in Brussels, Makarska was honored with the title of European City of Sports for 2024 in the category of cities with up to 25.000 inhabitans.

Golden Adriatic water polo camp is led and organized by Ivan Buljubašić, Olympics, World Championship and European Championship gold medalist and Mihovil Marinović,  Masters European Championship gold medalist.

Meet the coaches

Ivan Buljubašić

Born and raised in Makarska, he ventured into professional water polo at the age of 16, achieving remarkable success with the Croatian national team, including the pinnacle of an Olympic gold in London in 2012. Currently playing for Mladost Zagreb in Croatia, he also holds a degree from the Higher School of Water Polo Coaching at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Mihovil Marinović

For over three decades, he has immersed himself in the world of water polo, harboring a profound love for the sport since the initial plunge into the aquatic arena of his hometown, Makarska.Mihovil navigated through various junior national team selections, seamlessly intertwining his passion for exploration with coaching and playing water polo on global scale. Proficient in English and adept in Spanish, Italian, and German, he has truly made waves in both the linguistic and aquatic realms. 🥇 Masters European Championship 2022. Rome

The city of Makarska, the center of the riviera, is famous for the Mediterranean spirit on its streets during the Summer, the long strolls along the beautiful beaches along the peninsula and the evening entertainment from the street events and discos. Makarska will show its cultural heritage by leading the visitors through the rocky streets, to the main city square Kačićev Trg where they will feel the city’s pulse, and towards the Franciscan monastery, a treasury of the city’s history, where you can visit a spacial attraction the Malacological museum.
